The A-12 was the product of Project Oxcart, a secret military program to develop a high-speed, high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. First flown in 1962, the A-12 was built by Lockheed’s Advanced Development Projects office, now known as Skunk Works. The A-12 was capable of performing sensitive intelligence-gathering missions while flying at speeds over Mach 3, or three times the speed of soun...

APOLLO - WHEN WE WENT TO THE MOON - CUSTOMERS
I worked for Lockheed and Rolls-Royce at Stennis Space Center from 2004-2012, and serval of my teammates build the mock-up for the Orion capsule that won us the contract. Fast forward over 10 years, I was looking for work and looked at Lockheed again in Denver, where I'm from and moved back to in 2018. Contacted my old boss from Metrology, and he found a position for me at the Littleton, CO Lockheed facility, where ironically the Orion capsule was being worked on. I ended up declining the position due to pay. Small world!
I would point that the MiG-17 would not exist if the MiG-15 was delayed
One word. Genius
I am currently writing a book from 181 love letters from Don Vivian to his Bride to Be Peggy Vivian. He was on the Intrepid in 1957! I will reach out to the museum when it is complete.
This is really good news. In my previous visits to Intrepid, it’s left me with the impression that it’s an aviation museum that happens to be on a ship, with the ship itself offering very little interpretive value. Very glad that they’re putting some time into telling the story of the ship.
I watched the livestream over on the NASASpaceFlight channel. Fantastic interviews! Q: Is there any way to get Charlie’s autograph? Curious minds would like to know. :) Thanks so much!! 🚀♥️🚀
OMG this is the first model 👍🏻
Thank you, this is really helpful for my Tourism Translation Assignment.
And just remember, the USS Enterprise NCC-1701 was a Constitution class starship, with a sister ship manned only by Vulcans called Intrepid.
this A-12 is also the A-12 with least amount of flight hours with 177.9 hours flown

Fun fact: My Great-grandfather made this! His name was Nevin Palley.
Thought you should have mentioned the 72000 pilots trained by the Air Force in the T-38. That was by far, its major role.
When I was eleven (1966), my dad took my mom, older sister and I up separately three weekends in a row. I was first. He did a stall and a spin. That night at dinner, mom and sister said they’d go up as long as dad didn’t do anything fancy. It’s a memory I’ll never forget. Let me know if I remember this part correctly. I had to push a button on top of the stick to be able to talk to dad in front.
I’ve been there

Truly, how could it have been named anything else? 🖖
One of the video sequences was a trainer version, note the 2nd cockpit being higher than the primary. Was this the A-12 two seater (airframe 124) or the SR-71B two seater?
And I Picked up my 1st SKYRAY Model from Tamiya..💯💯💯🤗🥰
Hi from Australia. 🌏 I was extremely surprised to learn of all those timber tall sailing ships that is buried deep under the foundations of New York city. Placed there back in the day for residential occupants. I learnt of this through the documentarys of Drained the oceans away.
Good work!.. nice👍✈️
Thanks for this 👍✈️
Screaming demon called this for a reason
You had to cut the shock body!!!!!!!!! I remember the large number of turns to screw in the axles of the front strut. Good luck to you, me, 13 years old on French Crusader!!!!!
Not WSO; BN; Bombardier, Navigator.
I flew the QH50D off the USS Benner (DD807) on its WestPac Deployment to Vietnam in 1969/70. Some crazy but good memories.
You all did a great job. We had a blast!
One of my all time favourite jet fighters, such a graceful design.

Thanks to this very informative video, I am a flight helmet/gear collector, although I can only afford a few due to cost. I find the evolution and practical needs through different eras so interesting. Thank you for the work done!
The greatest attack aircraft ever! I am however biased since I busted my knuckles on that Iron Tadpole. I do have to say sir it is a B/N, Bombardier/Navigator, not a WSO in the Intruder. Thank you for highlighting it.
The Marines developed their own twin engined version of the Bell Cobra referred to as the 1967 AH-1J or as the ‘67 J’ for short. Later on the Iranians became interested in the Cobra and helped to offset Marine Corps procurement costs by purchasing a newer 1973 AH-1J or once again known as the ‘73 J’. Differences between the two were minor.
Back to basics though. Many ask the question of “Why did the Army continue with a single-engine philosophy, and the Marines/Navy elected to go to a twin-engine approach?”. Publications from the Marine historical branch indicate that a comprehensive study following the ‘68 battle of Hue City in Vietnam indicated that had the Marines/Navy been using twin-engine aircraft (UH-1s or Hueys) during that key battle, they would have most likely saved a significant number of assets following battle damage. Thus, twin-engine Cobras and Hueys became the solution for redundancy/survivability during shipboard ops in particular.
Note that the solid green Cobra being launched at the beginning of the video is not a AH-1J. Note the sighting system in the nose and the modernized tail boom under the tail rotor. Most likely a AH-1T with early TOW missile capability.
I was a snipe in the engine room and evaos in 67 and 68 why not talk about them. I was one of the Men who sail below!
My grandpa worked on these for Gyrodyne! He moved from Long Island to San Diego to work on this.
One interesting feature of the Blue Angels F-11s was their ability to discharge red & blue colored water out of their wingtip fuel dump vents. Not sure where the water was stored, though. Had to have been in one of the fuselage tanks, as the wings were dry.
Which bought aircraft besides cutlass???
I saw the art work even snipes from the hole got in on!
